Merry Christmas to One and All

I can't believe that I haven't posted since Halloween.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving at Jerry and Shirley's. It was a nice day and the kids got to play outside on their bikes and scooters.

Its been busy around here. Between watching Hollie and Jeremy and getting Connor too it keeps me busy. The kids are growing up so fast. Connor is just about running now. He is so cute when he walks. He is really getting fast on his feet. Today after church he took off down the hall from the nursery. Everyone thought he was so cute.

Connor had a great Christmas. Santa brought him all kinds of toys. He wasn't so keen on sitting on Santa's lap this year, but that didn't keep Santa from bringing him lots of toys. The kids came over after going to Amber's mom and step dads'. It was a quiet morning until they came. I got everything ready to take over to Judi's for dinner before they got here.
Connor was sleeping when they got here and took a really good nap. Amber tried to wake him but he didn't budge. He finally woke but wasn't interested in opening his presents, mommy and daddy did that for him.

Our big Christmas present this year was having a new floor put down in the kitchen and family room. I love it, it looks like wood flooring buy is vinyl tile.

Now I need to save up and have the living room done to match it. Maybe next Christmas.

Everyone is doing fine. George has been doing well.He is on a new medication and seems to be doing good on it. He still goes out and cuts the grass and does his own laundry, that's about all I can get him to do, but at least he does that. I still do a lot of work at our Neighborhood Food Pantry at our church. I'm there at least twice a week and sometimes more.

Hope the New Year finds you all it good health. Here is a picture of all the kids at Judi and Al's Christmas day.Hunter is holding Connor, Amber is holding Kayden, Kennedy, Karson, Hollie and Jeremy. This was the best picture that I took, its hard to get all the kids looking in the same direction at once. Enjoy.

Happy Halloween to everyone

Can't believe that tomorrow starts November. Where has the time gone!
Today is Halloween and we had a blast. Connor was an alligator. He looked so cute in it but he didn't like the hood on his head. He does not like to wear hats.
Judi made Hollie and Jeremy's costumes. Hollie was a chocolate chip cookie and Jeremy a carton of milk. Kennedy was a Southwest Airlines flight attendant, Karson a pilot and baby Kayden a Little Peanut. She had a onesie that said Little Peanut and they sewed SW peanut packets around the middle of it. She was so cute.

We all went to Kevin and Monica's for their tricks or treats. All the neighbors set up in their driveways with their candy to give out. Its a lot of fun seeing all the different costumes and the ages of the kids that go by. Scott and Amber pulled Connor around in the wagon with everyone but he didn't get any candy this year, he just went for the ride next year he will get to get candy.

Tomorrow is also November 1st. Jen and Dan's 2nd Anniversary. Happy Anniversary to you.

Now starts the rush for getting ready for the other holidays. The stores down here have already put up Christmas decorations several weeks ago. Maybe between now and then we will get some cooler weather.

Happy Birthday Connor

Happy Birthday Connor!
Can't believe it has been a year already. Time sure flies. He has 5 teeth and the sixth is almost through. He has two on the bottom and the rest on top. He is starting to take a few steps. The other day when Amber dropped him off with me he picked up the hula hoop and took three steps. Amber and I both saw him do it. Didn't get a picture of it though.
His party is at Chuck E Cheese and should be a lot of fun. There will be more adults than kids so we should be able to keep an eye on all the little kids.
The party was a blast. I think Connor had a blast too! I'm posting a few pictures from it. I have also put more on Facebook if any of you visit there.
I wish I knew what order they copied so I could put in captions. Connor didn't get to get messy with his cake, his daddy fed it to him.

The last pictures are of the kids, Amber, Hollie and Kennedy in one pic. Jeremy riding the Hee Haw(that's what he calls horses) and baby Kayden. They all had a blast and I don't know why I didn't get a picture of Karson, but I know he had fun.

Another Storm headed our way

Well we have another tropical storm that is headed our way. When I went to bed last night they were watching a disturbance down in the gulf. This morning it is Tropical Storm Hermine. Should make landfall late tonight early morning. That is our summer watch for storms.

Everything else is fine. Getting ready to celebrate Connor's First Birthday on the 25th. His party is going to be on the 26th at Chucky Cheese's. That should be a lot of fun. He is getting so big. He has cut 4 teeth so far. His two on the bottom and his "fangs" on top. He can be a vampire. He isn't walking yet, thought for sure he would have been by now but he likes being carried around too much I guess.

I was cleaning the other day and found a pair of my old pants and a top from my "heavy" days. I contacted one of the leaders of the support group and told her that I would bring them to the next meeting and give a testimonial. She said great and to bring a before and now picture also so they have it at the office. They are going to put them on their web site.

Everything else is fine. Don't have any new pictures to post right now, so will get some for the next posting.

Hope everyone is enjoying Labor Day and the end of summer.

Family Vacation

The First Annual Family Vacation is over with. It ended too soon! It was a blast though.

Connor had many firsts on his trip. His first plane ride, train ride, bus ride and going to a Chicago Bears practice. That was my first too! In all the years that I lived in Lockport I never went to a Bears game. I went to many Cubs games at Wrigley Field.

We had a great time with Jen and Dan. Jen and I went on a couple of bike rides and I even went for a ride with her father in law. Their neighborhood is so peaceful, I really enjoyed riding around it.

While we were there, Scott and Amber got married. They went down to Navy Pier along with Jen and Dan and met up with the JP, all very exciting! Scott showed Amber around Chicago since it was her first time there.

Jen and Dan hosted a family BBQ and everyone got to meet Amber and Connor. It was so great seeing everyone. Jen and Dan did a great job. Fun was had by all.

Connor enjoyed playing with Dan's parents dog Shadow. She is a schnauzer just like his dog Bear. Shadow didn't quite know what to make of this little person trying to get her all the time.

I'm posting a few of the pictures that we took.

As you can see by the pictures fun was had by all. Can't wait for the next family vacation!

Happy 4th of July

Well here it is July already. In less than a month we will be visiting Jen, Dan and the rest of the family in Chicago area. Can't wait for them all to see/meet Connor and Amber.

We just had a busy week with Hurricane Alex heading for us. Luckily it went in south of us and we just got rain and a little wind. I had a doctor appointment on Wednesday and decided to go even though it was raining. It wasn't raining that bad when I went up but the beginning of the drive home was treacherous. I could barely see where I was going but it only lasted for about 5 miles then it cleared and was just drizzling. I was glad to get home. The doctor said I was doing good. I lost 5 or the 8 lbs I was to loose. He said to come back in 3 months. There is another storm just entering the Gulf but its basically just a disturbance and should get to us on Thursday. Don't really need anymore rain the ground is saturated as is.

We had a good 4th over at Kevin and Monica's. I got in the little pool with Kennedy and Connor. He loves the water. I even climbed into the trampoline and bounced some but no one got pictures(thank god). I did get some video of Scott on the trampoline, I would try to download it but I'm sure it wouldn't capture. Jen, I'm bringing the video camera with and you can see it. I am posting a few of the pictures here from the festivities. You can go to Facebook to see more.

I love the picture of him in the little car. He was so cute.

Its hard to believe that Connor is 9 months old and will be 10 months when we go to Chicago. I'm hoping that he is walking by then. He really tries his darnedest to walk.

Hope everyone had a safe 4th. See everyone in Chicago soon!

Happy Memorial Day to all

I hope your Memorial Day has been a great day. We had a very patriotic service at church yesterday. Its a time to remember all that has made this country great by sacrificing their lives for us.

I haven't done much of anything today. Babysat Connor and then took him to Denise's while I watched Hollie and Jeremy.

Saturday we went to Hollie's 4th birthday party. It was hot but the kids enjoyed the bouncer that Ben and Denise rented. I even went down it after all the other people had left. I know someone took my picture so I'm sure it will show up on Denise's blog at some point. Here are a few pictures that I took of the festivities.

Fun was had by all!!!!!!

Have to include a few pics of the grandson. One with his mommy at the party and the other two taken at my house. It is really hard to get him sitting still. He is constantly on the go. I'm betting he will be walking before they go to Chicago in August.

Just an update!

While reading the other blogs from family members, mine always reads like a letter.
I space in between but it doesn't post like that. Oh well, here it goes.

There really isn't much going on. Connor is getting so big. I put him on my scale yesterday and he weighed a whopping 17.4 lbs. He is now crawling on his hands and knees and pulls himself up on everything. The one picture posted here shows him in the port-a-crib at my house standing up. Another picture shows him on his hands and knees. He loves to eat. Just open a jar of his food in his sight and his mouth is open like a baby bird waiting for the worm. Its so darn cute.

George is doing fine. He is still going out and mowing the lawn. The doctor decreased his one medication down to 2 1/2 pills of the steroids. He goes back in June to see him.

I finally called a plastic surgeon for some info, it doesn't sound like Medicare will cover the removal of the extra skin, but I'm going to make an appointment with him for a consultation to see what it would cost.

We welcomed baby Kayden Alyce Dyer on May 3rd. She is adorable. Can't get over how much hair she has.

Scott and Amber have made their reservations to go to Chicago in August. They are going up to visit with Auntie Jen and Uncle Dan and see the rest of the family. Scott wants to show Amber all around Chicago. They should have a lot of fun.

I had a nice Mother's Day, did absolutely nothing. Hope everyone else had a great day too.
