Happy Memorial Day to all

I hope your Memorial Day has been a great day. We had a very patriotic service at church yesterday. Its a time to remember all that has made this country great by sacrificing their lives for us.

I haven't done much of anything today. Babysat Connor and then took him to Denise's while I watched Hollie and Jeremy.

Saturday we went to Hollie's 4th birthday party. It was hot but the kids enjoyed the bouncer that Ben and Denise rented. I even went down it after all the other people had left. I know someone took my picture so I'm sure it will show up on Denise's blog at some point. Here are a few pictures that I took of the festivities.

Fun was had by all!!!!!!

Have to include a few pics of the grandson. One with his mommy at the party and the other two taken at my house. It is really hard to get him sitting still. He is constantly on the go. I'm betting he will be walking before they go to Chicago in August.

Just an update!

While reading the other blogs from family members, mine always reads like a letter.
I space in between but it doesn't post like that. Oh well, here it goes.

There really isn't much going on. Connor is getting so big. I put him on my scale yesterday and he weighed a whopping 17.4 lbs. He is now crawling on his hands and knees and pulls himself up on everything. The one picture posted here shows him in the port-a-crib at my house standing up. Another picture shows him on his hands and knees. He loves to eat. Just open a jar of his food in his sight and his mouth is open like a baby bird waiting for the worm. Its so darn cute.

George is doing fine. He is still going out and mowing the lawn. The doctor decreased his one medication down to 2 1/2 pills of the steroids. He goes back in June to see him.

I finally called a plastic surgeon for some info, it doesn't sound like Medicare will cover the removal of the extra skin, but I'm going to make an appointment with him for a consultation to see what it would cost.

We welcomed baby Kayden Alyce Dyer on May 3rd. She is adorable. Can't get over how much hair she has.

Scott and Amber have made their reservations to go to Chicago in August. They are going up to visit with Auntie Jen and Uncle Dan and see the rest of the family. Scott wants to show Amber all around Chicago. They should have a lot of fun.

I had a nice Mother's Day, did absolutely nothing. Hope everyone else had a great day too.

Spring is definitely here

Well here it is May 1st already. I titled it Spring is here, but its more like summer already. Temps in the 90's and humid. Not a lot going on here. Last night was Relay for Life and this morning I had to be at the football stadium at 6am to help load the canned food that was donated at the Relay. Our Food Pantry was the recipient of the food. Next Saturday our Mail Carriers are collecting food and again I will help with that. George went to his neurologist this past week and everything is fine. He cut his one prescription down to 2 1/2 pills in the morning. Trying to step him down gradually on the steroid to see what happens. Judi and I have gone for a couple of bike rides around her neighborhood and Denise even joined us last Sunday after dinner. Monica is scheduled to go in on Monday to deliver baby number 3. Its a scheduled c-section and can't wait to find out boy or girl, will post when I find out and maybe a picture too! Don't know if I will get up to the hospital to visit since the visiting hours and the number of visitors has been cut back. Only two visitors at a time. We'll see what happens. It's hard to believe that Connor is 7 months old already. He is all over the place and trying to pull himself up on anything that he can. He was crawling around here this past Wednesday and grampa wasn't watching him very closely and he tried to climb up the vacuum cleaner, he took a header and got a bruise near his right eye. I'm posting a picture of him with it. Also going to try and post a little video I did of him crawling around here, hope it works. Video wouldn't post. Will have to check settings I guess to get it to work. Well that is all for me now. I am really enjoying being a gramma!
